Greg Sternberg
Greg has been engaged in development, security, hacking, and technology for, well, a substantial period. And yes, he's hacked mainframes. Greg breaks into systems and secures them, often the very same ones. He has written code with security holes and written code to find them. Greg can program in most languages and operating systems and has used most of the hacking tools available, as well as being skilled with architecture and multi-colored security teams. When not presenting and writing on security, architecture, privacy, and programming, his day job involves securing systems that are targeted by people who possess incentive, time, and money but are owned by individuals without the funds, managed by people who would prefer security didn’t exist, created by developers burdened with impossible deadlines, and operated by teams who are juggling tens, if not hundreds, of other programs.
SPEAKING TOPIC: Mr. Roboto or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love ML/AI
Let's face the facts - ML/AI is here to stay. Many of the presentations you see are around how to protect, safeguard, or remove bias from the models. Still others are around the effect it will have on lives, our jobs, and what we hear and see. Still others discuss the ways ML/AI can be used against us or the rise of Skynet or Matrix.
These are all valid issues and concerns, but I want to talk about the other side of ML/AI - what can (will?) it do for/with us? No, I'm not talking about chatbots or targeted advertising. Rather I'm going to talk about how ML/AI can be used to help the elderly, diagnose diseases, educate and train our youth and ourselves, relieve (some of) our mundane/tedious tasks, improve security, etc...
